Hello all, by now you should have received your copy of the April edition of the Motor Caravanner Magazine.

Because of the Covid 19 restrictions, the printers are now closed for the duration and we will be sending out a Newsletter to all possible members starting with the May 2020 magazine substitute.

Preparation of that Newsletter is well underway, and it will be sent out by email and published on the Club website. A link will be placed on Facebook, but since the Newsletter will contain information specifically to the advantage of members of the club, we cannot just post the text on Facebook as this is accessed by non-members.

However, if you have not registered an email address on your membership profile or have changed your email address and have not told us, then you will not receive the newsletter.

We have now sent out an email to approximately 3500 members with registered email addresses, but more than 250 have returned as not recognised. If you received that email, don’t forget to check your SPAM box, then you need DO NOTHING. Please do not even acknowledge receipt as the email address is unmonitored (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) so you will only be wasting your time.

IF you HAVEN’T received the email, then either you have no email address registered or you have an old or inaccurate address registered.

If that is the case, I would ask you to email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with your correct email address including the following details

Updated email address:

Please DO NOT send it to the office, or any other email account as it will not be seen.

Rally Changes in 2019

Although we are only in early March, you may already know that there have been changes to the 2019 rally programme forced on us by various events.

Firstly we have lost the use of Lon Las School in Swansea. This no fault of ours, nor for that matter of the school. The council intervened a few days before the recent rally and stated we could not use the middle playground for parking. Also that no vehicle was parked adjacent to any building. This would have left us with about 16 to 18 vans worth of parking. They further wanted to know in advance how many vans would be there and how many gas bottles we would have. We therefore changed the rally venue to Dunvant RFC.

Losing Lon Las will have a knock on effect later in the year as we were planning on spending New Year there. The only winter venue we could find is Pencoed School, but is not available over the New Year period. Thus the Christmas Party (13-15 Dec) will be held in Pencoed School and the New Year Rally (30 Dec - 2 Jan) will now be in Kidwelly.

Secondly, the organisers of the Abergavenny Food Festival have decided to change the dates of the festival. Originally scheduled for 13-15 Sept it will now be 20-22 Sept. I.E. one weekend later. The rally at Hereford Rowing Club that would have been the follow on rally after the Food Festival. The Hereford rally will still start on Sunday 15 Sept but has now been extended to Friday 20 Sept. Abergavenny will now follow on from the Hereford Rally.

I hope this is all understandable.

Brecon Jazz Important Information

We have been advised by the people who own and run the sports association fields, where we will be camping, that the town and area will be very busy and camping spaces etc at a premium.

So to prevent 'unauthorised camping' on the field, they will be posting marshals on the little bridge over the canal. To pass these marshals you will be asked to show your MCC membership cards, for all adults in the van.

Without your cards you will be refused permission to enter the field.

So DON'T FORGET YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARDS.
